Week 4 - LTS

Hello everyone!
So this last week was amazing, lots of information being shared with us and also lots of work during the weekend.
During this week we had Darrow Miller as the school speaker and he was just amazing. He shared with us about Discipling the Nations. Our minds where stretched  and we were also challenged by hearing about how us, God's people, we are to not just share the truth of his word but also disciple the people -nations-.
Something that really struck us was this statement; 'the success of the church is measure by how they are impacting the society '. How do you feel about this?
We also had a fun weekend working in the kitchen. We were there all day Saturday cooking the three meals and cleaning up after each one.  Even though it was tiring it is always good to serve in practical ways.

This week, we have Jim Stier speaking on effective planning. We'll keep you posted on this week's lectures.

Being a student again/Retour sur les bancs d\'école

Three weeks ago we started again the wonderful experience of being students. As you probably know, we are doing a Leadership Training School with YWAM Tijuana.  We are taking the school together with 80 students all coming from 32 different nations. We can already feel that our minds are getting tired, we have 5 hours of class everyday and a lot of home work: book report, memory verse and a 5 years project. The teaching has been very good with topics like "critical decision making" and "Saul and David's leadership". It has also been very challenging and we can see that God is already working in our life.

The Big Day

So now we have been married for a month and a half. Wow! Time goes by fast; it feels like if it was yesterday.   But now we can breathe and do not have to worry about planning a wedding.

It took a lot of planning and a lot of dear friends that helped us to pull the wedding together. But seriously, if it wasn’t for YOU, my friends, it wouldn’t have been as wonderful as it was.

For Jean-Philippe the day started off normal.  “ I am not worrying about anything”, he said,“ I just want to enjoy.”  I Sarvia, the bride, had to be at the salon along with the bridesmaids and the mothers to do hair and makeup.  Thankfully, I still wasn’t nervous at all.

Once I was ready we made our way to the YWAM base where I began to get ready. As soon as I got there, I went straight into one of the rooms so I wouldn’t be seen by the groom.  It was around 3:30pm when I was ready to go and get married but I also started to feel butterflies on my stomach. Then we all drove to the church where my lovely now husband was waiting for me along with all our friends and family that came to celebrate with us.

I got out of the car and was ready to start walking down the ale. It was then where I got SO NERVOUS thinking- omg everyone is looking at me! what if I fall as I am walking down? – But I made it safe to the front where Jean-Philippe was with a big smile.  The ceremony went well. It was a great time to thank God for bringing us together.

The ceremony was followed with the reception at the YWAM facility. Thanks to many YWAM fellows, the place looked amazing; everything was just as we wanted it to be.

The reception was so much fun. There were a lot of dear friends and family that made our big day special. People singing, dancing, reciting poems, laughing,  it was just AMAZING!

We are thankful to God for giving us that special day where we could celebrate that coming together! God is good!
